Who We Are

The idea for the Post & Pour started with two of the majority owners, Melanie & Wilbur, who are current residents in Tehaleh. They really wanted to see more offerings at The Post and more opportunities to interact as a community.

They asked their close friend Stu, who owns and operates several bottle and tap houses in Seattle and Portland, for his assessment on The Post. He also fell in love with the building and neighborhood and here we are! The team now consist of Melanie, Wilbur, Stu, and two other partners from his other businesses to help create a wonderful space for the community to enjoy.

The ownership group are firm believers in enlightened capitalism, in the belief that business can be a source of good for the planet and people, that business can make the world a better place. The goal is to use this coffee shop to create the conversations that lead to connections that lead to community. This isn’t just a coffee shop or a tap house, this is a “third place”: A location that facilitates social interaction outside of the people you live or work with and encourages “public relaxation.” They are places where you encounter “regulars,” or frequenters of a space, as well as potential new connections. Third places tend to foster light, pleasant conversation and are free from expectations of productivity. Third places play an important role in helping people build individual and collective identities outside the home and the workplace.
